Name:  Kay Thorn

What first inspired you to write?   Honestly I’ve never been inspired to write like you would think. It was more of being asked to write something and questioning whether or not I could. Once I finished my first book I found that I really liked writing.

How do you come up with the ideas for your stories? From the time I was little I always had difficulty is having confrontations or talking with other people. I wouldn’t say that I was shy it was more I get stumbled on the words. So I would often have conversations in my head afterwards of how I thought it should go. Which is a lot of how my stories go and sometimes it’s not just in my head I’m speaking it out loud. As for ideas a lot of it just is the what if’s and the weird stuff in real life.

What question do you hate the most about being a writer? Don’t know of a question that I hate but my number one is the cliquish things authors and groups do. Like since I was a reader before I was a Writer, authors out there beg you to read share and review then share again. But once you write something and is much is you admire that author very few are out there willing to read your work and put it out there in support.

Are you indie or traditionally published? Indie

Have you ever tried the other style of publishing? I have not although I have thought about it. Where I’m at in my life right now it’s not that of easy to be blocked in by the deadline.

What are you working on now? I’m currently working on three different books. Two are spinoffs of my first book the characters that are in it appear and the first two books and it’s a motorcycle club series. The other one I’m working on is my standalone which is kind of based off of the first book but doesn’t really have the deeper character elements, that my series does.

What is your most recent/upcoming release? Last May I re-edited and added content to both of my books currently out Grains of Sand and True Bearing.  My standalone nomad book which by the way does not have a title yet should be out early fall.

Links to stalk you online: I stalk a lot of people… there’s the usual models and authors like pages. I like several author, Gm Scherbert, L Wilder, winter Travers, Lani Lynn Vale, AJ Downey, Kerri Ann, Liberty Parker, Cree Nations. I’m also involved with a group of authors that we support each other and we are so vastly different we write different genres we were write different ways, and are all over the world. We talk share and support when we can.
These are just a few.

Author Interview with AD Herrick

Author Interview with AD Herrick

Name: A. D. Herrick

What first inspired you to write? I was inspired to write by the stories that unraveled through my mind as I spent many long hours working. I was going through a really tough time, emotionally. Writing provided the perfect escape from my reality.

How do you come up with the ideas for your stories? The ideas for my stories come from my fantasy’s, real life experiences, and through talking to others.

What question do you hate the most about being a writer? The question I hate most hearing is ‘How much do you make?’ I have heard this question time and time again. I find it rather rude and intrusive.

Are you indie or traditionally published? I am Indie all the way.

Have you ever tried the other style of publishing? I have never tried any other type of publishing. I enjoy and prefer the freedom I receive through being an Indie author.

What are you working on now? Right now I am working on finishing a Rom-com I had started working on a while ago. It’s an over exaggerated tale that is inspired by real life experiences and adventures.

What is your most recent/upcoming release? My most recent release is Still Rocking. It’s the final book in my Heavy Metal Romance Series.

Author Interview with Darlene Tallman

Author Interview Name:  Darlene Tallman

Pen Name if different: same

What first inspired you to write? Have created stories for years, since a child. Always a daydreamer so I’d see something and then make up my own story, so to speak.

How do you come up with the ideas for your stories? From everywhere to be honest. A song on the radio, a story on the news, maybe even a beloved story from the bible. A lot of my stories start out as little nuggets I get while driving because my brain is always asking “what if?” whenever I see anything!

What question do you hate the most about being a writer? I haven’t been asked too many questions (yet) so I don’t have one I dislike more than another.

Are you indie or traditionally published? Indie.

Have you ever tried the other style of publishing? No

What are you working on now? The first of a three-book series (something I was NEVER gonna write) called “The Black Tuxedos MC – Reese”.

What is your most recent/upcoming release?

Latest release was “Forgiveness” (which will have a second book; it’s not a cliffhanger, but one of the secondary characters insisted on his own story to “redeem” himself and who am I to argue?)

What first inspired you to write? The first book I ever read was The Voice of the Night by Dean Koontz. I was a child when I read it, but that book was the first thing to inspire me to write. I wanted to be able to spin a story that would one day rival that of my favorite author. There have been many things and people in which I drew inspiration, but that rainy day, when I finished the last page and closed the book, was the first and most profound.

How do you come up with the ideas for your stories? I start with the protagonist, dwelling on him or her until they are well defined, their personalities, physical traits, what type of life they live. Then I imagine the type of people they have around them, influencing them either positively or negatively. Once I can see these people and their surroundings clearly, I think about what a day in the life of that protagonist might be like, and I start writing. I never build a story line. If I know what is going to happen every step of the way, or how the story will end, I will become bored and I will not be able to write. Instead, I let the characters tell me their story.

What question do you hate the most about being a writer? When are you going to get a real job? Unfortunately, I keep myself locked away, writing, proofreading or editing, most of every day. My friends and family have the opinion that I sit around all day doing nothing, wasting time while I play on my laptop, when I could be out looking for a forty-hour per week job.

Are you indie or traditionally published? I am an indie author.

Have you ever tried the other style of publishing? I had originally thought to publish traditionally, but changed my mind while shopping around. I witnessed too many traditionally published authors leaving to publish on their own, tired of not having enough control over their books. I researched indie publishing and decided that it would be a better fit for me, being that I don’t want people who might not have even read my book telling me that I need to change the story to suit their statistics.

What are you working on write now? I have several projects going right now, but most of my focus is on a novella called The Silly Murders. This is a horror story centering on a performance clown that is dying of a brain tumor. After he catches his wife in bed with a previous client, he snaps, losing his grip with reality and goes on a murder spree.

What is your most recent/upcoming release? My most recent release is The Slutty Bride. This is a dark erotica/ horror short story about lust, betrayal and the descent into madness when a woman is caught in the throes of passion with the best man at her wedding.

What first inspired you to write? I've been writing for as long as I can remember. As an introvert, I've always found that putting my thoughts into writing was easier than expressing myself verbally.

How do you come up with the ideas for your stories? The characters usually introduce themselves to me and whisper in my ear the secrets they want me to tell.

What question do you hate the most about being a writer? I dislike being asked how much money authors make.

Are you indie or traditionally published? I am traditionally published. I have two different publishers, Hot Tree Publishing and Solstice Publishing.

Have you ever tried the other style of publishing? No, I haven't.

What are you working on now? I've just started a book that I'm tentatively calling Forever Faith. I'm also working on edits for Steadfast Heart, the third and final book in my Follow Your Heart series.

What is your most recent/upcoming release? Love At First Crepe, my Humorous Romantic Mystery, is set to release July 22nd, and I couldn't be more excited.
