Author Interview with John McKay

Author Interview with John McKay
Name: John Murray McKay
What first inspired you to write? I get inspiration through cinema. Especially of the master Tarantino. His usage of color and contrast is amazing. And the fact that he values the role of strong female. He is my main source of inspiration.
How do you come up with the ideas for your stories? Lack of sleep and too much porn? Kidding. I often see images on TV and film and then start building the idea from there. How I do it is a mystery? It’s a complete and utter zoo up here in my mind.
What question do you hate the most about being a writer? Will you co write with me? Sweetie dahling no, you are old enough and I’m sure you wear socks with your shoes. Stand on your own feet and write the damn thing. That and fan fiction writers who think they are the cat’s whiskers. Hint, they simple aren’t.
Are you indie or traditionally published? Hybrid if that makes sense. I am working through an Indy publisher ( KCeditions) and they are amazing. I have been very blessed to know them.
Have you ever tried the other style of publishing? Tried submitting to the bigger publishers but my books are too far left field for their tastes. It’s okay though, no hard feelings. I’ll take the long way around.
What are you working on now? Working on a standalone novel where a girl and her demonically possessed manual of engineering must defend her town against the forces of evil. Weird but par for the course for me I guess.
What is your most recent/upcoming release? I just released ‘The Venom Protocols’ Here is the blurb: “You should have left me alone.”
Charlotte Corday was once called the most dangerous woman on the planet by the FBI until she retired. But it's not so easy to remain retired when the past is determined to drag her back into the hell she wanted to leave behind her.
To uncover the origins of the mysterious Valkyrie program, Charlotte fights through her own dark past, dredged up by those determined to keep her out of retirement... or out of the business permanently... and to find solace in her own razor blade filled mind.
Her own words—her own warning—will come to haunt them.
They should have listened.
